FM GRU: 2025 results and new challenges for 2026
Interview with Dino Dorigo (Italian Sales) and Antonio Ciotola (International Sales)
2025 has just come to an end: what results were achieved?
Antonio Ciotola – Export
2025 was a challenging year for Northern Europe (Benelux, Scandinavia and Germany), affected by the economic downturn. On the other hand, Extra-EU markets shown very positive results: FM GRU successfully entered the U.S. market and resumed operations in South America, achieving significant turnover.
Dino Dorigo – Domestic
The investments launched in 2024 to adapt the entire product range to Industry 5.0 requirements and to develop the EcoPower system led to a substantial increase in turnover. With the national extension of the program no longer in place, attention is now focused on the opportunities offered by the new 2026–2028 Decree, particularly hyper-depreciation incentives and the ZES program.
From a technical perspective, what product innovations were introduced in 2025?
Antonio Ciotola – Export
In 2025, numerous deliveries of the 1347 TD telescopic crane (47 m – 6 t maximum load capacity) were completed. This model, further refined and improved, allowed FM GRU to enter a new market segment with immediate positive results. The renewal of the self-erecting crane range was also significant, with the launch of the 1030 RBI mono-three-phase model, which was very well received by the market.
Dino Dorigo – Domestic
The upgrade of the entire range to Industry 5.0 standards with the EcoPower system fully met expectations. The new 1030 RBI mono-three phase crane, replacing the 930 RBI, has been extremely well received. In addition, the introduction of standard features (red-and-white painted counterjib, clearance lights, LED lights on the jib, and radio remote control with display) has further strengthened the high-quality positioning of FM GRU cranes.
What assessment can be made of BAUMA and GISEXPO held both in 2025?
Antonio Ciotola – Export
BAUMA 2025 once again proved to be a strategic trade fair, particularly for Extra-EU markets. Numerous contacts were generated in Africa and the Americas, and relationships with existing customers were further consolidated. Growth prospects over the next two years are very positive.
Dino Dorigo – Domestic
Participation in major national and international trade fairs contributed to revenue growth and helped promote the EcoPower project within the Italian market.
What are the commercial outlook and key developments for 2026?
Antonio Ciotola – Export
In 2026, our goal is to strengthen our presence in Eastern Europe, North Africa, Canada and the United States. We are developing new self-erecting telescopic cranes as well as a new crawler crane range, designed for niche markets with high potential, particularly in Northern Europe.
Dino Dorigo – Domestic
Once the implementing regulations for the 280% hyper-depreciation incentive and the Southern Italy ZES are officially published, we will focus on delivering clear and structured communication to our sales network. Special attention will also be given to newly included regions (Marche, Umbria and Abruzzo) to better support customers in their investment decisions.
